Join other Scout Troops for this environment camp at Berrima Scout Camp where you will be able to complete sections of the environment part of the Scout Award Scheme.

Have fun hacking out some weeds, survey the beasts in the river, avoid falling out of a canoe, catch a carp, paint the shed, roll out a path, build stuff, meet wild things on a night walk and much more.

When: 6.30pm Friday 16 September to 4.00pm Sunday18 September
Where: Berrima Scout Camp - Apple Street Berrima
Cost: $...... for Troop Catering, $7.00 Material Costs (Youth Members only) and $10.00 Camp fees per person. Applications close on 31 August
Who may attend: Scout Troops with Leaders and parent helpers and other environmentally minded Leaders, Rovers and Venturers willing to assist.

Hume Region Scout Youth Council originally set down for 8 August 2011 has been brought forward so that the Hume Region Delegates to State Scout Youth Council will be adequately prepared for the upcoming State Scout Youth Council which will be held at State Rally on 6 August 2011.

Hume Region Scout Youth Council will now be held on Monday 1 August at Hume Region HQ commencing 7.30pm.

Distrcit Representatives from Nepean and Southern Highland Districts together with Troop Represenatives from other Districts are invited to attend.

The census for May 2010 shows a reduction in youth numbers in the Scout section compared to the same time last year. Total membership at the end of May 2010 was 5,673 and at the same time last year was 5,723. This is a decrease of 50 Scouts or less than 1%.

The NSW Scout Section Operational Plan sets out how the Scout section aims to address the developmental needs of the Scout section in accordance with the State Strategic Plan.

This Operational Plan supersedes the Scout Section Development Plan 2006 - 2009. It compliments and supports the Scouts Australia New South Wales Branch Strategic Plan 2009 - 2012, released in February 2009. This living document maps the path of the Scout section in acheiving the aims of the Strategic Plan where it relates to our youth program. This plan was last reviewed and updated in June 2010.

This plan is primarly for use of our Region Commissioner, Scouts, but is included here as it contains information that may be of interest to all leaders.
