The SYC Starter Pack contains everything you need to get involved with or start your own SYC. Using the resources in the starter pack you can get involved in SYC at the District or Region level. If there is no SYC running then you can start one and help others to get involved.
All the resources you need are here for you to download and read and/or print.
The resources available are:
- Welcome_to_SYC_from_Chair_2009.pdf - A welcome letter from the SSYC (State Scout Youth Council) executive.
- Scout_Youth_Councils_An_Overview.pdf - An introduction to the SYC covering how it came about and what the SYC is intended to achieve. (PPS version: scout_youth_councils_presentation.pps)
- SYC_Starter_kit_2009.pdf - The starter kit itself which tells you how to get involved.
- SYC_Sample_First_Meeting_Agenda_2009.pdf - A sample agenda for the first meeting of a new SYC at troop, district or region level. This agenda will guide you through the process of establishing the SYC.
- SYC_Sample_Agenda_2009.pdf - A sample agenda for subsequent meetings. This provides a meeting format to allow you to run effective and efficient meetings.
- SYC_Sample_Attendance_Sheet_2009.pdf - An attenance sheet to be used to keep track of who attends your SYC meetings.
To find out it there is a SYC running in your District or Region please contact your DSL or RC (Scouts). Your Scout Leader can put you in contact with them.
