ICCS Scout Jamboree

in

Scouts Australia has been invited to attend the ICCS (International Catholic Conference of Scouting) Scout Jamboree in Thailand. The event will be held between 27 December 2010 and 4 January 2011 with the theme Scout as a Servant of the Gospels.

Scouts Australia will not be sending an official Australian Contingent to this event.  Any member of Scouts Australia wishing to attend this event or who are interested in leading a contingent should contact the International office for more information.

Eligibility: Scouts, both male and female, aged 12-18 years old who are members of Scouts Australia.
 
Venue: Vajiravudh National Scout Camp, Sriracha, Chonburi, Thailand, 60kms from Bangkok Suvarnaphumi International Airport.
 
Cost: The Jamboree fee is US$400.00.  The cost to attend the event including airfares is at the individuals own expense.
 
Program:We believe a good program reflects the needs, interests and goals of the individual, patrol and unit leadership under the light of Gospel values and values of life.  Each young people supporting by adults would able to achieve a good balance of advancement or development, scout craft, adventure and learning through doing and experience to complement his/her year round program.

Theme:
“Scout as a Servant of the Gospels”
Go into the deep based on the papal encyclical letter “Caritas Deus est” and Spe salvi”. (God is love and Salvific Hope.) It expresses in each activity by the process as the gospel taught us “to come meet each other and be friends through activities of caring, love and exchanging scouting
skills to become leaders of more young people and foster each other’s life to the completion of truth, goodness and beauty.
