The census for May 2010 shows a reduction in youth numbers in the Scout section compared to the same time last year. Total membership at the end of May 2010 was 5,673 and at the same time last year was 5,723. This is a decrease of 50 Scouts or less than 1%.

Leader Numbers Increase

However of some interest is that the decline in youth numbers, has not been matched by a decline in the number of leaders. In May 2006 leaders made up 17.5% of the Scout section. As at May 2008 this had dropped to 13.0% and May 2010 this ratio had increased to 13.3%
