Scouts Australia NSW are running the 6th ADVANCED SCOUT LEADERSHIP COURSE in Newcastle on March 16 and 17, 2012.

AJ2013 REGISTRATION IS OPEN!
Great news ... the registration site for AJ2013 is up and running. So what do you do now? It's as easy as 1-2-3-4-5.
- Check out the criteria for attending - for Scouts, Venturers and Leaders
- Grab your membership number, your email address (or use your parents if you don't have your own), and a digital passport size photo you can upload to the site
- Have a tape measure or something to measure you head and your chest size so you can select the right size hat and shirt
- Know your Medicare card number
- Get your permission from your parents (if you're under 18 years of age)
Once you've got all this, you're set to go. If you have any questions, refer to the User Guide.
Remember, applications are due at Region HQ by 15 March 2012. Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today, otherwise you might miss out on your chance to live your dream at AJ2013.

Hume Region - Wet, Wild and Waterwise
Join other Scout Troops for this environment camp at Berrima Scout Camp where you will be able to complete sections of the environment part of the Scout Award Scheme.
Have fun hacking out some weeds, survey the beasts in the river, avoid falling out of a canoe, catch a carp, paint the shed, roll out a path, build stuff, meet wild things on a night walk and much more.
When: 6.30pm Friday 16 September to 4.00pm Sunday18 September
Where: Berrima Scout Camp - Apple Street Berrima
Cost: $...... for Troop Catering, $7.00 Material Costs (Youth Members only) and $10.00 Camp fees per person. Applications close on 31 August
Who may attend: Scout Troops with Leaders and parent helpers and other environmentally minded Leaders, Rovers and Venturers willing to assist.

Kokoda Track Walk 2012

The Bowral Venturer unit are currently organising a Kokoda Trek expedition. This trip will be available to experienced hikers of the NSW Scouts, Venturer, Rover, and Leaders. Expressions of Interest are called for from those wishing to attend this once in a lifetime experience. Please note that once you have shown interest and returned the attached form you are not guaranteed a place, as there are only a possible 20 places, participants will be chosen based on participation in pre hike fund raising, and practise hikes.

AJ2013 Contingent Badge Design Contest
The AJ2013 NSW Contingent executive has decided to run a competition to design the badge for the Jamboree. Entries are invited from all Scouts, leaders and other members of the Scouting community. (Non-uniformed supporters are welcome to enter.)

AJ2013 Website Live
The AJ2013 NSW Contingent web site is now available at aj2013.patroltent.com. The web site will be one of the primary methods of communication between the NSW Contingent and Jamboree attendeees.
The web site will have content such as:
- news about the Jamboree and the Contingent,
- manuals and forms for participants, and
- newletters.
During AJ2013 the website will be updated with articles and photos about NSW troop activities.
Korimul Gang Show 2011 - Applications Open
Yes, it’s that time once again. Korimul Gang Show is gearing up for another action packed season in September 2011.
For those of you who have not encountered Korimul Gang Show before, Gang Shows are the Performing Arts side of Scouting and Guiding. It takes the form of a revue-style, variety show, with big musical production numbers and comedy sketches. Korimul Gang Show has been going since 1975, and our show is renowned for its comedy element and the high level of professionalism shown in the performances.
We are now calling for applications for Korimul Gang Show 2011.
2010 Rally Results Available
The results from the 2010 State Rally are now available on the Rally website. Results are available for both the award winners and for all participating patrols. Congratulations to the award winning patrols and to our champion PL.

Solar Panels for Scout Halls
Following on from the success of the 100 Year Water Tank Project, Scouts Australia is approaching the Federal Government to request funding for the installation of solar panels on every Scout Hall in Australia.
If Scouts Australia receives funding for the project to go ahead, it will be the first National Scout Organisation in the world to have Scout Halls and campsites that are self-sufficient in both water and energy.
